• This Year's Crap

Conceptual Overview

‘This Year’s Crap’ documents seven individuals dealing with lock down, segments of society at various stages of their lives. Each being someone I had spent a significant time working with throughout the duration of lockdown. Every hill acts as a visual manifestation of their conscious and subconscious methods of making sense of the situation. Their hopes, aspirations and anxieties individually encapsulated within their own island. A distorted land where portable lavatories have been morphed into homes, sanctuaries for the wounded self. Where some fall along the wayside of fear, and others stand tall endlessly waiting for normality to reappear.

All dealing with the events differently, yet fundamentally all doing it together.
