Conceptual Overview

‘Apophenic Dreams’ seeks to explore the fundamentals of understanding through the process of apophenia. The formulation of the self imposed narrative based on the understanding we derive from patterns in anomalous data. 

Combining nearly a thousand of my own photographs with several digital paintings to create an expansive digital world. With every landscape, character, and object photographed in various places of personal significance around the world. Culminating in a visual experience which aims to encourage the process of apophenia to occur in the viewer. Through the imposed narrative of my personal journey, to the addition of a central doorway created using a generative adversarial neural network.
