Conceptual Overview

This body of work aims to document the daily trials and tribulations encountered as we leap from one lockdown to the other. Seeking to explore the entanglement between mother nature and humanity. In a void of uncertainty, an illusive chasm filled with anxiety casts it’s shadow over society. The battle for understanding takes part within the great planes between conscious and subconscious thought.
A visual diary which begins its journey as a sequence of drip paintings created within the foundations of automatism. Using individual hanging systems suspended from branches to utilise the shifting motion invoked by the wind to cast paint onto the canvases. A record of time that becomes embedded within the conscious realm of a digital landscape.

Each title defines the day in which each of the drip paintings that formed a major underpinning for this work had been created.
